Gives you an algorithm to know whether the sentence is functional. All languages have these words in them, not just english. 1 attempting to put ~pvq into a sentence. Either minerva is not a cat or she is a mammal. 2 ~(pv~q) = it is not the care that minerva is a cat or minerva is not a mammal. 3 ~q ~p = if minerva is not a mammal, then she is not a cat. They don"t sound the same when spoken, but they have the same. The first used sentence, and the last sentence are varying ways of saying the same thing.
