Tries to pull all edm music together and look at different genres. Wants to find futuristic sound in brand new technology. A lot of emd music on radio has catchy hook. Melody lines are used to project the timbre. Beat is primary and the other elements are in background. Edm is made to be listened through massive club sound systems. Low end frequencies make us vibrate and the body becomes an ear. Music is made to be listened to while under the influence. Gets you lost in the music, being overwhelmed by the sound. Less focus on artist more on the crowd. Purist forms edm is a revolt against celebrity culture. Edm has many unknown artist with multiple alias. Grassroots are placed against mainstream and is anti-establishment but has no political or revolutionary movement. Edm is meant to be heard in club with massive sound system with a lot of people.
