Deviance isn"t a quality of the act that people commit but rather a consequence of the application of rules and sanctions of an ofender. Learn how to do it easily, protection from the outside world. Then it becomes yourself , therefore they"re able to justify their behaviour. Doesn"t stop you, you do it again. Start developing resentment and hostility toward the penal system. You reach a point where you become labelled by society, you"re now convicted and the penalties become more sever (prison) Interactionist perspective interaction between those who do the labelling and those who are labelled and it only works when the label sticks. Control theorists want to know why people conform to social norms. We conform with the law for many reasons: instill in us growing up, religious practice, embarrassment of someone close to them or their family members. Attachment how attached are you to society will determine if you will break laws/rules.
