Arth 298 montreal: evolution through architecture and urbanism. No door, white open windows, reinforced concrete walls. A lot of people complained that the house was not interesting. A neighbor called rousseau"s house like a jail. New urban way of creating house, rousseau did this. Second floor is glass, where the dinning room, kitchen. and the upper part is the private space. Don"t see entrance, hidden in the side. When it was built it was considered ugly. Now the borough is trying to encourage urban architecture. But rousseau was a pioneer at the time. Mount royal is the ridge of the island, north or south will be going downhill. Corner of mount royal and saint-laurent, highest point when crossing the island on the main. On the left is going down to rivieres des praries, right is down to st-laurent. Mont royal street still has witness of the past, has some old buildings that have been modified a lot.
