Arth 298 montreal: evolution through architecture and urbanism. Is a neighbourhood located on the eastern edge of the ahuntsic-cartierville borough in the city of montreal. It is one of the oldest villages on the island of montreal with many houses dating from the 1700s and 1800s. Practically frozen in time, isolation, far from downtown, practically no activity, originally for farmers, becoming a place for retired people: very old settlement. End of 17th ce used a mission for mohawk and algoquins who were coming from the mission of de la montagne: started by the sulpician that was on sherbrooke. 1721 moved to oka, created by the french after leaving the mission, started to farm the area and gradually the sulpician discovered there was a kind of artificial fall, wanted to harness the energy by mills. Around pont viau (bridge: rivieres des prairies, on other side is ile de jesus, now city of laval.
