Saint-joseph; sir george simpson house, built in 1833, demolished 1888; st. stephen"s. 1824 canal de la chine was open for navigation, the population started to move around this area, Had to travel over a km to go to sunday mass at old church. In 1865 the priest decided to move the parish to the actual site where it is now. So the church and religious organization was closer to the people. in 1865 the commission of the church saint anges, 1915 destroyed by fire, and rebuilt and reopened in 1919 as we know it today. The sister of saint-anges created a college and a convent. Religious community moved in in 1965, and acquire property of mr. simpson, the chief exucitve of the hudson bay company at the time.
