Document Summary

No universal definition for the term ethics, it reflects a concern for the well being of people & society. Neither absolute nor carved in stone, as ideas and beliefs will develop and change over time as the views of society change. Subjective concept which changes from one time period to another, from one country to another. Sometimes viewed as reflection of society"s moral values. In simple terms, ethical behaviors promotes the philosophy of treating other in the same fashion as you would like to be treated yourself. When dealing with one"s peers one should take into consideration ethical principles including but not limited to being respectful of others, acting honestly and fairly, compiling with the law, not act maliciously and inspire trust. Law & ethics reflect 2 separate yet interrelated and interdependent principles. Although laws are set they may not be ethical and vice versa (ex: is min wage = to a fair wage).
