Honesty: widely accepted but not very well understood primarily, because it is a practice relavant to many different facets of our existence. The code of ethics for engineers directs engineers to create a bond of trust between professional and client/employer. The bond between professional and employer/client is based on trust. According to the code of ethics it is an obligation for all engineers to create a bond of trust. In order for the engineer to make the bond of trust, the engineer must take several measures. These measures include disclosure of limits, integrity and transparency, availability and diligence, independence and impartiality, confidentiality and fees.
