Eugenics: from greek eu ( good ) + genes ( birth, breeding ), the improvement of the genetic quality of offspring by controlling the breeding practices of individuals of the species. In 1928 the province of alberta passed its own eugenic sterilization law, becoming the only jurisdiction in the british empire to do so. The alberta eugenics board sterilized 2832 children and adults prior to 1972, then the law got repealed. 3 types of cloning: recombinant dna technology, also known as dna cloning or gene cloning. it involves the transfer of a dna fragment from one organism to a self-replicating genetic element, such as a bacterial plasmid. The dna of interest is thenpropagated in a foreign host cell. The reconstructed egg containing the dna from the donor cell must be treated with chemicals or electric current in order to stimulate cell division.
