History will give a lot of credit to realist views of international politics. Guzzini: justifies what europe was doing during 19th c. Hans morgenthau; wrote politics among nations: the struggle for power and peace. Going to propose a set of rules. Containment: containing the spread of communism through out the world. Classical realist: applying the fact that human nature is bad . Humans are egoist and they seek self-interest. Principle 1: the image of the stag hunt . Principle 2 and 3: the concept of interest defined in terms of power . Always look at power and this will let know you how to intervene etc. Idea of rationality: it should behave in a rational matter. As a state or state leader you should never act/follow your emotions. Weber called it: as a state leader you have a particular responsibility and you always have to be aware of its responsibility low politics: Idea of rationality and rationality of the leader.
