Substance
As you may be aware it can be hard to speak about race.
Slavery is sort of protected in the constitution.
Spoke about race within some of court case; Brown v. Board of education.
I ould suggest that ae oe of the iggest thig i Aeia politis. It is also ofte foud that oe’s
view regarding race is the same that maybe other individual have.
Literary quotes:

said that slavery hurt white and black. He said that the US racial problems are permanent. It is also true
that race shapes the way a country thinks, and how you draw the lines in a state/country based on racial
consideration. Important topic.
In the US and elsewhere race is controversial in terms of science. The genesis of human species. Even
though race is not a biological fact, for example no genetic code, but there is more variation within even
groups that have been relatively close.
In 2010, 9million americans claimed that they were inter-racial. Growing trend to identify beyond the
start categories or growing awareness people more mixed than they might know. 63% white, 17% black.
Even though race is very real politically. Controversial scientifically. Race is America is not just an issue of
black and white, but historically that’s lagely.

2 presidents stand out from acting out: Lincoln and Johnson
-Lincoln author of the proclamation, but Lincoln was not all together a racial progressive. He came to
embrasse emancipation late in life, as a younger man he had other views. He was indifferent about race
when he was a younger man, he wanted to split the difference on race. He spoke about race very rarely
and when he would, he would mix misogynist and race. He finally denounce slavery. He was trying to
enforce equality.
-FDR: in part he repeated suggestion of his wife.
-Truman: he desegregated the military.
