When reading aristotle always keep in mind: politics of making due vs politics of making things new. Virtue is the ability to distinguish the moderate course of action. The basic premise is the human beings come together not only to live but to live well; we live well when we"re whole, a sense of wholeness, political community is not only about living but about living well. There is a purpose for every membership for honor, create wealth, the purpose for political partnership is to create a sense of fulfilment greatest fulfillment of all. Political community is not just living together in a territory for mutual defense. It"s a partnership for the sake of living well. The political community says about us that we are political animals. Otherwise, we will not be self fulfilled in isolation because we want truth, that is what separates us from animals. When we are lonesome, we cant search for truth aristotle.
