What gets us to where we want to be a reason to do something, a purpose/aim/goal. Motivation is the processes that give behaviour its energy and direction. When we"re energized to complete a goal, we are highly energized: the stronger our behaviour is to accomplish our goals. When we"re highly motivated to accomplish something we have high energy. Motivation is goal-directed the direction is our path. These are like accomplishing mini goals that help obtain the final ultimate goal. If you"re highly motivated to obtain your diploma you will have a higher amount of energy to complete the goal. In terms of direction (the path) you will do things like take more classes and study harder (steps that will result in obtaining the diploma). When we fulfill our needs we are maintain our mental and physical health.
