Hostile aggression: an act of aggression stemming from feelings of anger and aimed at in icting pain or injury. U want to in ict pain on someone or injure them, ur made at them. Instrumental aggression: aggression as a means to some goal other than causing pain. Aggression used an instrument, its not ur goal u want to achieve. S. t else ex: player in a game, injures the opponent to stop him from playing, the injury was caused to stop the person from playing, the injury wasn"t cause he was mad. Researchers say- aggression is not about hurting someone out of anger.
