Document Summary

Body fat - is comprised of essential fat and storage fat. Essential fat: fat stored in the muscled, bone marrow, etc. Storage fat: fat accumulation in adipose tissues, part of which protects internal organs in the chest and abdomen. Specific places in the body where to measure. Compare dry land bodyweight & put in a tank in which you can float. The larger the difference, the more body fat you have. Blow out all the air from the lungs, get fully immersed in water. One of the more accurate ways of measuring body fat. Problem: it does not take body composition into account, just the weight. Harmless electrical impulse sent through the body. Send the impulse through one foot, and measure when it gets to the next foot. Watch out for dehydration (not enough water or too much coffee / alcohol. ) Excess body fat in the abdomen is a predictor of risk factor and ailmets associated with obesity.
