Document Summary
Blood glucose functions, type i and ii diabetes. When we eat carbohydrates, they are broken down in the process of digestion in glucose, which enters the blood stream. In response with the increasing levels of blood glucose, the pancreas responds by releasing insulin = giving the body energy. How: insulin (as a key) unlocks the muscle cell doors and allows glucose to enter. When blood glucose decreases, the liver releases its stored glucose into the bloodstream, and again, the pancreas releases more insulin. Optimum level of blood glucose is thus controlled by 3 factors = balance: food we ingest (carbohydrates broken down in glucose, pancreas, liver. Body has destroyed the insulin producing cells in the pancreas. We do not know exactly why this happens. Body breaks down its fat = weight loss. Can be reversed once that diabetes i has been treated with insulin.
