Paul thus becomes a member of the way (a christian) Paul is clearly one of those high-energy people who throw their whole selves into projects. In damascus he energetically starts to spread the news. He then preaches for several years in arabia. He then returns to damascus and leaves for jerusalem. He returns in hiding and barnabas introduces him to the apostles there. However, his presence causes problems, and he is sent back home to tarsus. Barnabas then comes to find him and they return to antioch. He and barnabas go on their first mission. Many pilgrims would come to jerusalem from all over the diaspora (the mediterranean and mesopotamia)
