Due to alteration of the normal vaginal flora. Symptoms may increase after intercourse: not an sti, but can get worse with more sex. Clue cells bad bacterial sticking to these cells. 70% females asymptomatic: 50% of males asymptomatic, incubation period 2-6 weeks. Lead to pid, infertility, and ectopic pregnancies. Cause inflammation of the eyelids which turns your eyelashes inwards chronic scraping causes blindness. National rates are higher than national average very prominent in younger age groups. All sexually active women 25 and under. Pregnant women with a new sexual partner in third trimester.
