Psychology is the scientific study of thought and behaviour. Psychology is a social science as well as a biological science. There are many fields of psychology these include: Cognitive, developmental, behavioural, biological, personality, social, clinical, Health, educational, organizational, sports, forensic and experimental psychology. Developmental psychology looks at how thought and behaviour vary or develop with age. Behavioural neuroscience studies the connections among the brain, the mind and behaviour. Social psychology explores how people behave among others. Clinical psychology focuses on treating mental illnesses. To explain why and what causes our thoughts and behaviours. Predict when are thoughts and behaviours likely to occur. Examining whether thoughts and behaviours can be altered. Dating back to stone age, mental illnesses existed and humans tried to treat them. Some of the ways include, exorcisms, incantations and prayers. Drilling holes in the affected person"s skull, trephination was believed to free the demons and evil spirits from the individual.
