Inter-observer rater: consistency of recording and scoring between all observers. Intra-observer rater: each observer, individually records, interprets or identifies similar behaviours or events the same. This happens when people are well trained, they are in agreement with everyone else in the lab. So they sat down, went frame by frame, and the observer showed the researcher how to score it. She lost her consistency over time, not on purpose, she may have forgot what she was scoring. Validity is about the threat to valid inference making. All the types and subtypes of validity theoretical level. Criterion validity: a measure of how well a test assesses some underlying (theoretical) construct or characteristic. Depends heavily on the operational definition, e. g stress . With different kind of measures you would agree on the criterion. Concurrent: a measure of how well an assay estimates a criterion/performance in relation to another (concurrent) phenomenon or group of subjects at the same point in time.
