PSYO 2220 Lecture Notes - Lecture 4: Thematic Apperception Test, Neuroimaging, Electroencephalography
Document Summary
Predict behaviour (prognosis what"s the course of this disorder likely to be?) Reliability: consistency of the measurement (psychological testing) or procedures (clinical interview) Validity: degree to which a technique or test measures what it is designed to measure what it is designed to measure. Types: content (do the questions get at the diagnostic construct you are wanting to find out about), predictive, criterion, concurrent validity has two tests or parts of tests that measure the same thing because you want to compare them, Semi structured : set of questions you"re asking, but within that umbrella of questions you have the freedom to inquire more about a particular answer or ask other related question. Scid- structured clinical interview: mapped onto all of the diagnostic categories in the dsm. Would be asking everybody about all of the disorders. Has specific questions but allows for follow up. Might use if a persons presentation based on the clinical interview already is discrepant.
