Increased interest in sex: lesions in amygdala create similar responses. Components of the amygdala shift from anterior to posterior: shifts in position central nucleus is located in centre at certain parts in the brain. Projections to hypothalamus: hypothalamus involved in lots of instinct behaviours autonomic nervous system, ventral amygdalal fugal pathway, away from the amygdala, striaterminellus. Second only in size to corpus collosum: pathway leaving amygdala. Found there was no eye bias when looking at people: most people look mostly at eyes, patient (s. m. ) could be trained to look at the eyes. Then could recognize emotions by the eyes: apparent connection between visual environment and emotional labels. Two amygdala: one on each side of the brain, rarely both are damaged. Increased vigilance and attention: evidence of fear and aggression fmri imagine. Fearful faces evoke greater activity than happy/neutral faces: mostly related to negative emotions apparently.
