Document Summary

Motive (cf. , need) leads to behaviour in particular situations. Not all of us are equally driven, but a lot of people eare focused on doing better and achieving more access and reaching goals. People want to have power, and feel as if they had some type of impact on the world. Can have more than one motive (motivation) working at the same time, they are not mutually exclusive. Sometimes they work together, and sometimes they cause conflict within each other. Does not argue that everyone has these same motives in the same way, and they are situation dependent. Extended freud"s 5 stages the individuals time and place. Never had a ph. d or had any formal education. Ended up with 8 stages and took a more social science orientation with. Could solve each stage by finding an appropriate solution to deal with the problem.
