Territorial Losses
France has lots of reasons to be insecure
They want to put an artificial check on Germany’s power

oNo arms manufacturing
oNo war ships
oNo more colonies
oLose some of the industrial strength
There are new nations that are gaining more territory which makes them more
viable as their own nation
oEx. Poland- making it possible to surround Germany
oEx. Czechoslovakia- have the mountain range bordering Germany
Austria and Hungary are now treated as defeated and as enemies now
Austria loses land to Italy, Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia, they have no sea

oThey also have to pay reparations
Hungary lost a lot of land to Transylvania

Germany does not lose that much in comparison to Austria and Hungary

They want Reparations from Germany

The German bill is going to be HUGE, but nobody gives a figure yet
oThey know they can’t give a number that is NEVER going to be able to be
