Organized, consistent set of perceptions of and beliefs about oneself. Do i think i"m a good person: theory based on two assumptions. A person"s actualizing tendency guides behavior: toward positive, constructive, and adaptive behavior rather than toward destructive or maladaptive behavior (liebert & liebert, 1998, p. 407) Love or support given to another person with no conditions attached: conditional positive regard. A situation in which the acceptance and love one receives from significant others is contingent upon one"s behavior. Maslow"s hierarchy of needs: individuals progress throughout needs only as lower-level needs are met, people are motivated by inherent needs to fulfill their potential.
