Ozone layer: biosphere (ecosphere): living/dead organisms, biotic: living, abiotic: non living. Environment: the surroundings in which plants/animals live, affected by various physical factors such as temp, water, light, and food resources, everything that affects a living organism. Habitat: place/type of place where an organism/pop. Of an organism lives. (example:) ocean, forest, river, etc. Ecology: the study of interactions of living organisms with one another and with their non- living environment of matter and energy. Environmental science: systematic, scientific study of our environment, and our role in it. (example:) chemistry, sociology, political science etc. Matter and energy: basic building blocks of nature: matter: anything that has mass (weight) and takes up space. Includes everything that is solid, liquid, or gaseous.
