BIOL-208 Lecture Notes - Lecture 6: Sea Butterfly

44 views1 pages

Document Summary

Me and my colleagues maimoona and bria, would like to complete this experiment in a span of 6 months. For the first week of the experiment we would be manipulating the amount of light and temperature in the lab to mimic the bottom of the ocean. We then would then fill 4 tanks with ocean water, but adjust the amount of co2 dissolved differently in each tanks using carbon cylinders. For the next 6 months, every 2 weeks we would go into the the lab and collect the data on these sea butterflies. We would also be making sure that the co2 levels stay at our desired amount at this time using a chemical test called the hi3818. We would be recording the mass of their shells during the 6 months so that we have a more thorough estimation if there is shell degradation at high amounts of co2.
