Document Summary

You are able to make mutilple billions of antibodies. Programmed into the t cells in the thymus. Programmed into b cells in the bone marrow. No antigenic configuration for which you are not prepared to react to when you are born. You don"t learn anything about immune reactivity after you are born. Dendritic cell is sitting between t cells and b cells: 2 different molecules come from t cells. Programmed in thymus to react only to specific epitope on antigen. Molecules synthesised by t cell surface if the t cell is sure. Binds to b7 on surface of dendritic cell (co-receptor) If that doesn"t happen there is not immune response: animal becomes tolerant of that peptide forever, ctla4 another molecule produced by t cell to bind b7. Once b7 and cd28 molecules stop interacting the immune response stops. If response keeps up the immune response it involutes: there are times when we don"t want antibody response to stop.
