Grade Breakdown
• Midterm – problem solving, short answers, essay-based (30%)
➢ Design and interpretation of simple experiments
➢ Concepts and approaches in developmental biology
➢ No make-up exam without documented medical reason
• Term paper – 5-7 pages & peer feedback (30%) – first draft March 16th, final paper April
13th
➢ Summarize and critique a paper from a pre-selected group
➢ Sign up for a paper online
➢ Make use of extensive peer feedback
➢ Also double-blind review of 3 peers’ papers
• Final exam = non-cumulative (40%) – based on lectures 13-26
• Can get up to 10% extra from pop quizzes – 10% goes towards midterm grade – very
simple – uses Polling@McGill technology
• The quality of your peer-reviews on others’ papers affects your grade

Term paper: topics shall be selected by the end of january and each topic has limited enrollment, read the article several times, draft the paper several times with feedback attend.
