The aggressive programs extinct quickly, more advantageous in competition, but also pose high damage to each other--eliminates aggressive strategies from the pool and cooperative strategies survive. Tit for tat: first cooperate, then copy the opponent"s previous move. E. g. stickle back fish experiment (with mirrors), only approach predator when have cooperative partner.
