Ex: cocaine from coco leaf: aconite poison used by romeo, foxglove plant - attractive garden plant. Dropsy =term used for congestive heart failure [when heart cannot pump all blood effectively] *when too much strain on heart & body edema-fluid in body [large] Many people bleeding themselves out just to remove fluids. William withering publication: botanical arrangement of all vegetable growing in great britain - earlier work. Analysis of plants led william withering to discovery of foxglove plant: account of the foxglove & its medical uses in 1785. Widely thought to be proper study of significance that showed good & bad of drug. Wrote account of the foxglove & its medical uses in 1785.
