*fusiform face gyrus: can recognize objects & parts/features of face ex: nose/eyes/mouth but cannot integrate. Together to create full perception of face: cannot recognize faces of family/friends & even self so recognize based on voice / posture. A- cortical areas: medial temporal lobe, orbito-frontal cortex, ventral lateral prefrontal cortex. Hippocampus = see things & remember so learn from visual perception. Basal ganglia = mvmt control: ventral striatum. Stimulus valence = attach value to visual stimulus [object. Receptive fields in higher levels of visual hierarchy = Face anywhere & any position in visual field. Receptive fields get progressively larger as we move to progressively higher levels in visual hierarchy. To get full perception of visual field *not just 1 precise point. Rgc receptive field = very small circular hole in visual field. Behind circular hole = another piece of paper with diagonal lines. Receptive field = also more complex in context of motion to fully understand what seeing.
