The principle of causation is at stake (can the environment become a cause to which the consequence is culture?) This has implications for white"s very general typology of human culture; the evolutionary classi cation of culture is at stake. Sh community collapses then so will the people"s community. Regulation of the industry by the government. Danger signals from the local shermen go unheeded, they didn"t see the stocks declining and neither did government of cials, there wasn"t good communication. The government"s research boats would be in high seas collecting data about sh population while the shermen were operating smaller boats and stayed closer to the shore causing them to not know whats going on in the sheries. Inef cient communications do not explain the collapse of the sheries by themselves. Technological changes (changes in the cultural core) Even the youngest sh were caught causing future generations and populations of sh to decline.
