become very difficult to exchange

Landscape urbanism: disciplinary realignment currently underway in
which the idea of landscape supplants architecture as the basic building
block of citymaking, ex- The HighLine
The confluence of urbanism & landscape architecture, a series of
strategies for conceptualizing for conceptualizing & restructuring
urban environmental change
Understanding the city as a layered structure within the landscape
“ a looser, emergent urbanism, more akin to the real complexity of
cities and offering an alternative to the rigid mechanisms of
centralist planning”
Landscape as both the lens through which the contemporary city is
represented and the medium through which its constructed
Is first & last an imaginative project, a speculative thickening of
the world of possibilities
The wealth of contrasts that make up the being and becoming of
metropolitan landscapes should be the source of inspiration and
creativity for design
