Thursday, october 3, 2013: optional paper - 2 page summary 1 page on what he said, 1 page of critical analysis, women getting genetic testing are moral pioneers , absence isn"t a reason to pity someone. Didn"t back up the reasons why the organizations she picked on were wrong. Didn"t give arguments and evidence of the arguments that were made. The way she said things wasn"t convincing: asch - its worse to abort a fetus with a disability than those who have a baby without a disability and not take care of it. Helps build the argument about the assumptions in regards to raising a child with a disability. Didn"t target parents but genetic counselling in the argument: still supporting autonomous reproductive freedom as opposed. Kind of defensive and trying to cover all the bases in order to not to criticising parents offend anyone. Says that the circumstance should be taken into consideration when you are genetically testing or not.
