1-2 pages of text (double spaced, 12 pt font) and a good quality reproduction of the work with a caption (artist, title, date). Note things of colour, line, light and dark, composition [how various elements are arranged, ehe moved through the picture etc. ] Does not require interpretation of the gures, but rather just a description of the gures. If using exterior sources [not required], footnotes must be used. Think about what art historians do look at the different art historical approaches/ methods over a single art work. Don"t use textbooks or websites as sources, rather use scholarly books, book chapters, essays, academic journals etc. Enrico scroveigni commissioned giotto to paint frescos within the chapel to seek attonement from god (as his father was damned) Giotto moves away from the medieval style of art prominently seen in italy: gold background removes the individuals in the works from our space and time.
