Kabuki and takaraquka are exceptions for cross-dressing and transvestites openly. In rural areas, they are more conservative and less likely to accept lgbtq. In east asia and japan, people are hesitant to openly convey affection (don"t kiss, hug, cheek to cheek action in public) No stage curtains noh play starts suddenly. No complicated stage sets with only one pine tree painted on the background. No kakegoe (calling or cheering) of praise from the audience. No facial expressions concept of noh is elimination. Intresting how the audience appreciates and evaluates the way people express themselves through the limited ways of expression.
