Before submitting our final grades but after they"re released, prof is going to have a whole day to talk about them with us. Regrades are from scratch and 90% of the time it stays the same, 5% of the time it goes up, and 5% of the time it goes down. This is an image processing feature called filtering . It takes a set of numbers, which defines some operation you do to each spot in an image, and applies that operation all across the image, and outputs a new image. This happens in video processing filters, photoshop, etc. You have to do this thing repeatedly over an entire image if the image is large, it can take a long time. Good way to look at efficiency, choosing which language is the most efficient, etc. If you apply the filter described by the numbers above, this filter extracts edges and adds it to the image.
