COMP 206 Lecture 35: Networks, Python and CGIs, Version Control (Nov 25)

Document Summary

We were talking about how to make a very simple cgi, that just says hello world. , or tells you to pick up your cap and gown if you"re graduating. Then, we built up to a recursive cgi where you could filter an image, and then we"d save the image temp. bmp. In assignment 5, there is a link to an example page which basically does a5, which we can use as an example. It makes a page based on your last set of filters, and shows you whatever image has been most recently filtered by anyone on the system. So two people start using it together, and it can break badly. You need to think about websites that can handle making dynamic pages with multiple people contacting the server at the same time . One way of doing that: when auto generating page, save something about each user.
