Democracy inherently good even if we don"t know what it means. Liberalism close relationship between liberalism and democracy. We need liberalism for democracy but at the same time there are contradictions. Democracy is a matter of politics, political conflict, and people struggling collectively. Different people from all over the world are celebrating it. Content of the parade is celebrating the values. But the form of the parade is different. In the actual parade, the citizens themselves created the parade. As it"s become more inclusive, the ability for each individual to participate diminishes. Part of this model is a conception of democratic participation. Direct ownership of the press by the active republic revolutionaries. Printing is going on in this public sphere. Face to face discussion is still going on. Rational, reasonable discussion idealized traits in this public sphere. Liberty from vs. liberty to (enabling freedom = positive freedom) This (press law) was the first step towards a positive freedom to participate.
