Alternative media is often an alternative with content, different outlets cover roles in different ways and they are alternative in different senses. An alternative outlet that consists of non-professional volunteer community discuss not oriented towards putting frames missing in the mainstream. Presenting a space for voices that are marginal sometimes, opening up a space for women"s voices. It doesn"t mean that these voices won"t reproduce dominant frames and narratives. Talking about alternative media that provides alternative content but might not be as distinct when it comes to organization. It is one of the most widely known of alternative media when it comes to alternative news and political content but it is not that well-known. Democracy now started on the radio network as an hour and in the early 2000s it started with a new web presence. We do see there are some ways in which it is alternative but also it seems to model itself on mainstream media.
