A lot of international actors on social media talking about issues that they probably don"t understand. Occupy wall street through twitter in new york, shift of twitter failed to rally troops but was a key access of info for protestors. Social media as an informant or mobilizer not organizer. People of all ages from all situations posting on twitter. The parks where the protests were going became an area of sympathizers which humanized the issue on hand live feeds: people can see what"s going on. Sometimes internet isn"t as effective as we hope, it"s probably not a hindrance. Politics and activism: we run into the problem of people being free-riders. People feel like as an individual they"re not making much of an impact.
