Document Summary
Social promotion is ensuring that the students go through their education while staying within their age group, within one year: schooling is compulsory until secondary 5 or 16 years of age (education act). A child has the right to be educated in the youth sector until the age of 18, at which point the school or school board can ask the student to go to adult education. Compulsory education is the necessity for students to stay in school until secondary 5 or 16 years of age: there is no such thing as a child permanently expelled from schooling. The current one was introduced in 1997, but has been amended on multiple o(cid:272)(cid:272)asio(cid:374)s. they do(cid:374)"t happen regularly or often, but they do occur occasionally: the basic school regulations. They are changed every year, but not significantly. There is always a first draft published in may or june, and then an official final draft around.
