Shinto
Introduction
Supposed to be the indigenous religion of the nation
Pronounced like "dao"
So "shinto" is a Chinese word
Means "the way of the God"
God = kami
Also used to talk about big beautiful things, like trees
Ujigami = the god of a uji

Natural wood
Emphasis on natural
Painted red sometimes

Look like arches
Built on the road that leads to the shrine

Characters are the same as the characters for "shaman"

Born shinto, get married in a shinto temple, etc
