Document Summary

Acute effect of exercise blood pressure for up to 12 hours. *acute effect can become chronic reduction in bp if have repeated bouts. Study = exercise of 30 mins of cycling at either 40% or 70 % vo2max. Results - post-exercise hypotension in normatensive & hypertensive. 1- at rest = high sbp & high dbp stage 1 hypertension. 2- during exercise = sbp / map / dbp . Reduced for 13 hrs after modest acute bout of exercise in hypertensive individuals but not in normatensive [already normal] Map = (cid:1777) (cid:1794) & co = hr sv. But hr unchanged so co unchanged = map . Due to co < tvk or inflow < outflow. Exercise can = tvk / resistance. Study = exercise tests performed at intensity of ~70% of hrmax for 10 / 20 / 40 / 80 mins with blood. Pressure recordings at 30/ 60 / 90-minutes post-exercise. Result - impact of exercise duration on post-exercise hypotension.
