Genre, horror , and night of the living dead. Gets through filter, able to say and criticize things that other media cant because no one is: written in 1970s, horror most politically useful and progressive fiction. In the 2000s, he thinks it is less the case than original writing in the 1970s. Feature the return of the repress in the form of the monster. Does not think normal is synonymous with good: reactionary/progressive, night of the living dead: In the reactionary: monster = simply evil. That which is repressed should stay repressed. Wood reading taking it seriously from other non-zombie characters represses or oppresses: its emergence dramatized as an object of horror, the happy ending: zombie film trailer: Usually workers - clear metaphor for slavery and imperialism. Zombies in the first part of 20th century are created and controlled by the master.
