The renaissance is the type where there"s a rebirth of humanistic studies: ancient philosophy. The biggest one: the fall of the byzantine empire. Interest in neo-platonism: marsilio ficino, translated all of plato from greek to latin, he also wrote long commentary: chritian mhstical outlook view, its called christinal syncretism, take a pagan philosophy and put in w christian ideas. Latin was the language of literacy at the time. Makes plato"s work more accessible and make it move through europe. See influence of neo classical thoughts in shakespeare"s work.
