ENVR 200 Lecture Notes - Lecture 22: Water Cycle, Evapotranspiration, Kyoto Protocol
Document Summary
The hydrologic cycle links the earth s systems, redistributes energy and shapes land. There is very little fresh water available for use. Renewable fresh water is recharged in a reasonable timespan by precipitation or runoff. Renewable supply on land = precipitation over land = evapotranspiration + runoff. Non-renewable fresh water is not recharged or is recharged more slowly. There is a difference between environmental vulnerability and economic damages. Economic vulnerability relates to the cost of adapting (eg reducing co2 emissions)
