Vegetation determines the balance between evapotranspiration and runoff. Ratio between green and blue water, or food and drinking water. Efficient use of water can lead to adaptations in plants. Plant characteristics determine the nature of other biota in the biome. Water is absorbed by the roots into the plant. Stomata control the release of water and intake of co2 in a plant. When stomata close, photosynthesis stops since there s no co2 intake. C is captured, and stored in the plant, making it available to other organisms. Evapotranspiration and net primary productivity are positively correlated. A concept which strives to estimate all of the water used to produce something.
