The article was the indian view of environmentalism, contrasting the western view. Environment is the place you work, the place you live, the place you play. One of the most pragmatic is the example of the german green party. It is important to integrate ecological concerns with livelihood. The maximal population size of a given species that an area can support without reducing its ability to support the same species in the future . A measure of the amount of renewable resources in the environment in units of the number of organisms these resources can support. Species: lizards versus birds fewer birds can be sustained in an ecosystem than lizards. Carry capacity varies a lot by culture and consumption. The social carrying capacity will always be higher than the bio-physical carry capacity. We always use a lot more than we need to to live. The impact is the product of the population, the affluence, and the technology.
